Best Hikes for Summer 2019: Cedar Ridge

looking down a highway in the desert

Hiking trails can be found all throughout the Grand Canyon. Some, older than most, were used by the Native Americans who occupied the area a hundred years ago. Nowadays, these trails can be hiked by anyone looking for their next big adventure. One of the shortest hikes but also has an amazing panoramic view is on the south Kaibab Trail to Cedar Ridge.

This trail may only be 1.5 miles but do not let that fool you. It can be challenging given the time of year and how steep it is. When planning for this hike it is good to keep in mind that during the cold seasons it can get very unsafe if one has not taken the proper precautions. Warm clothes, good shoes and even walking devices for traction are highly recommended. During the warmer to hotter seasons, it is vital to bring at least 2 liters of water being that there is no water source beyond the trail head.

Nevertheless, it still remains a very popular tourist attraction. This hike offers an abundance of majestic beauty, so much that a viewpoint along the way has even been named after the reactions of the many people who have visited. Ooh Aah offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Grand Canyon and all of its stunning geological formations. The landscape and its exquisite colors, ranging from beige to tan, to shades of red and orange, are like nothing you’ve ever seen. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience one of Mother Nature’s natural beauties, you will not be disappointed! Join one of our Private Hiking Tours from Flagstaff, AZ today!
